The Ethical Making Symposium will be held in March 2018.
In partnership with the Precious Metals Workshop, the two-day programme (28-29 March) will take place at the Out of the Blue Drill Hall in Edinburgh. The Symposium is primarily directed at silversmiths and jewellers, who will learn about the impact of ethical making, how to adopt an ethical approach, and how to communicate the value of ethical making to buyers.
Day one of the Symposium will be free to attend and will include talks by:
- Greg Valerio, activist and jeweller
- Ute Decker, jeweller
- Dr Peter Oakley, researcher
- Jan shepherd, Flowers & Gold Supply Chain Manager
- Makers who have adopted an ethical approach including, Ian Nicholson, Karen Westland, Jen Cunningham, Alison Macleod and more.
Day two of the Symposium will cost £40 + VAT and will include practical workshops facilitated by our expert speakers. Further details to come.
