We have put as many of our records as we can online in the form of a database, which we recommend to you as our main archive search tool. It is free to use, all you have to do is register. If you do have an enquiry about our database or the other records we hold, please contact the Archivist to discuss the issue.
If you do contact us directly, wherever possible, we will endeavour to answer most enquiries as quickly as we can and at no charge. However, if an enquiry takes longer than 30 minutes of the Archivist’s time (e.g. searching the Duty Books to find a particular item or reading through the Minutes to find reference to a particular individual), a charge will be levied. Our charge is currently £15 per 30 minutes of research. If your enquiry is going to take longer than 30 minutes to answer, you will be informed of the cost in advance of the research being undertaken. We request that payment is made before the research is started.
We do not give valuations on specific items.
